We are the proud team of Happy Kids Altrincham Nursery & Preschool. We are a passionate and committed Early Years’ team and we strive for the best outcomes for every child. At Happy Kids, children’s learning takes place through play. Highly trained and experienced practitioners tune into your child and support their learning by sensitively observing and supporting their play in a safe and enabling environment. We aim to create a real love of learning, awe and wonder which will last with your child for a lifetime.
The Early Years are such an important time and we strive to create some very special memories during the time your child spends here with us, and in so doing lay solid foundations for their future learning.

Sue Thomas
Sue is an Early Years Teacher and holds the NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Children's & Young Persons Workforce. Sue started at Happy Kids in 2010. Sue is First Aid trained, our safeguarding lead and communication champion.
In her spare time Sue loves spending time with her 3 teenage sons and husband, and her spaniel Cleo. She is also passionate about keeping up to date with everything "Early Years".

Yvonne Hughes
Yvonne has been at Happy Kids since 2007 and works closely with Sue to manage the setting. Yvonne holds the NNEB Child Qualification and is our Lead Special Educational Needs Coordinator.
In her spare time Yvonne loves crafts and caring for her beautiful cat Rhada. She loves to watch cricket at both local and international level and dreams of taking a trip to watch England play Australia with her family some day.

Samantha Hamlett
Sam holds the NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Children's & Young Persons Workforce and has been with Happy Kids in 2017. Sam is our Food Safety Officer and is First Aid trained.
Sam is the proud mum of 2 young daughters and she enjoys taking them out on adventures during her spare time and spending time with her extended family. She loves to brave the elements, camping and exploring. She is very creative and plans wonderful experiences for her girls.

Sophie Lamper
Sophie has been with Happy Kids since 2015 and is our Level 3 Forest School Leader. Sophie is first aid trained and also holds her outdoor First Aid certificate.
Sophie is passionate about spending her spare time in the outdoors, hill walking with her daughters and 3 rescue dogs. She has recently completed the NNAS Silver hill-walking & navigating qualification so plans to do some more challenging hikes soon. She also has a love of salt and vinegar crisps!

Laura Wright
Laura joined Happy Kids in September 2021. She holds the Early Years Educator Level 3 Qualification. Laura has several years experience in childcare,is passionate about supporting children's learning and completed the Emotional Literacy qualification in 2022 which supports the wellbeing of our children and staff.
In her spare time she adores spending time with her ragdoll cats, Bear and Belle, and her daughter.

Jo Spratt
Jo joined Happy Kids in September 2022. She brings with her a wealth of experience, having worked as a Teaching Assistant in a local primary school for 14 years. She holds an Early Years' Level 3 certificate in Childcare.
Jo has 3 grown up children. She loves to upcycle furniture in her spare time.

Monique Lucifora
Monique holds a post graduate certificate in Education. Her young son attended Happy Kids and she completed her teacher training with us.
Monique speaks several European languages and lived abroad for many years before returning to the UK. She is a trained florist and loves to upcycle furtniture in her spare time too.
