How to navigate the clocks going back so bedtime is a breeze.

Who would have thought that a one-hour clock change in Spring and Autumn could often prove to be a real pain?

If you’re the parent of little one you will know it can be a real challenge. Luckily, we have some tips to help you navigate it so it all goes like clockwork, literally!

1. In the week leading upto the clocks going back one hour, adjust your child’s bedtime routine by bringing it forward ten minutes a day. Say you start at 7pm, then by Friday you’re at around6.10pm when the clocks are showing 7pm.On Sunday evening your little one should be adjusted to the 7pm bedtime after the work you have done that week. Let us know if it works 😉

2. Get out in the sunshine. This will help set your body’s circadian rhythms. The earlier you can get up and out the better as it will send signals to your body that the day has started.

3. Turn off the tech at least an hour before bedtime. This will be more important than ever around the weekend the clocks go back.

4. On the Saturday that the clocks change that night, wear those children out. A long walk, soft play, a playdate with friends, an extra-long play at the park. You want them tired out to give you a fighting chance of a lie in!

5. Don’t for one minute think that you can stay up later as you have an extra hour in bed! Nope, if you have small children, you know that’s a risky game!

Good luck!
